Our Team:

Gary Howarth (right) is the Managing Director of TIS.  He has an extensive background in criminal and commercial investigations and security consultancy.  Gary was a member of the NZ Police for 10 years, before moving into a position as General Manager of a food importing and distribution company.  He then moved back into private sector investigative and security business, bringing with him an extensive knowledge base of business management, sales and marketing.


During his Police career, much of that time was spent in the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), attaining the rank of Sergeant in charge of CIB and enquiry staff.  Gary was involved in numerous investigations including murder, rape and sexual assaults, robbery and thefts, serious assaults, fraud, and serious drug offences.

Gary is continually upskilling his expertise and has recently been certified as Lead Auditor in Security Management Systems as well as Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems by Sustainability in Perth, Australia.  He is currently undergoing RABQSA certification for both of these.
 
Gary is backed by a team of reliable experienced investigators, again with a strong ex-police background.  His Senior Investigator is Sam Hanna who spent over 30 years in the New Zealand Police, rising to the rank of Detective Inspector.  Our Risk Management team has many years experience in the financial sector  particularly as senior management in business risk management and financial fraud.  We also have personel highly experienced in security risk audits, travel escort, maritime security, and security training.

Insurance & Licenses:

TIS has the appropriate level of Professional Indemnity Cover and has current Private Investigators licence (No: 700583) and Security Guard Licence (No: 701376) under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act 1974.  All staff have current certificates of approval to be the responsible employee of a private investigator and security guard
